Clinical Services and Assessments
Acclaim provides a comprehensive number of Clinical Services and Assessments. Conducted by qualified specialists and registered assessors, we obtain unbiased opinions on a client’s disability, medical status and the required treatment.
Acclaim maintains a roster of certified professionals who can provide independent assessments in a variety of health care disciplines, including: Physiatry, Psychology, Psychiatry, Orthopaedic Surgery, Chiropractics, CT Scans, MRIs, Neurology, Neuropsychology, Physiotherapy and more.
This assessment process uses an individual’s transferable skills, as well as real and simulated work activities to assist the individual in formulating realistic vocational goals. It is used to identify potentially suitable alternate occupations based on the individual’s personal and vocational characteristics. Formal testing may include one or a combination of the following: VALPAR Pro 3000, CHOICES CT individual profiles and GATB/COII. This assessment can also include a labour market survey component.
This program is aimed at returning the individual to gainful employment and the activities of normal living. It involves coordination with both the individual and employer (where appropriate) to determine how the individual can be accommodated in the workplace and/or home based on his or her functional abilities and limitations. For return to work, Acclaim implements a Modified Return to Work Program, which is temporary employment based on a light duty/modified work program integrating the individual’s functional capabilities to increase work tolerances for a healthy long-term return.
Acclaim offers a wide range of assessments performed by either a Registered Occupational Therapist and/or Kinesiologist. These assessments include: Physical Demands Analysis, Cognitive Demands Analysis, Task Demands Analysis, Functional Abilities/Capacity Evaluation, Poster-Offer Assessment, Job Site Analysis, Ergonomic Assessment and more.
This service involves the coordination of an individual’s rehabilitation, treatment and, where appropriate, attendant care to return the individual as close as possible to their pre-injury status. The program facilitates the individual’s return to work and/or suitable employment after accident/injury. It may also include vocational evaluation, CJST, job coaching and return to work.
This goal-based, client-driven program allows individuals to work on the rehabilitation goals that are most important to them. Here, the individual works within a transdisciplinary team to access resources not typically offered in other programs. We find that using a consensus approach increases motivation and participation, which contributes to greater success. The program goal can be focused on improving activities of daily living, assisting in efforts to return to work, or both. This is a helpful tool for employers who have individuals returning from long term absences and need to re integrate a lifestyle change into their return to work planning. It can also assist with employees who have chronic attendance management concerns.
These services are related to the coordination of an individual’s treatment, rehabilitation and/or attendant care. It includes: interviews with family members, the employer, treating health practitioners and service providers, personal meetings with the individual, rehabilitation planning, and report preparation. Case management for catastrophic injuries greatly expedites the rehabilitation process in non-catastrophic injuries by simultaneously managing the recovery and return to work processes.

Some of these devices include: mobility aids, hearing aids, communication aids, visual aids, diabetes equipment and supplies, respiratory equipment and supplies, artificial eyes, facial prosthetics, custom orthotics, and more.
